…sent home early today so that I (1) wouldn’t get anyone sick (2) could feel better.
Good news: My headache is gone for the most part. I slept in the truck as soon as I got in it and went straight to bed when I got home. The phone woke me up about a half an hour ago. I figured that I might as well get up and try to get some things done before I actually call it a night. Otherwise, I would have probably woke up at 4 AM and not been able to go back to sleep.
Bad news: I forgot how to eat a mango. I’m totally serious. I went to the Asian Market last week and bought two because they looked awesome and when I went to dig in today, I realized that I didn’t know how to go about it. Thinking back on it now, I remember that mom used to just cut it up with the rind (kind of like how you would cut up a watermelon) and we used to take a piece, peal it off the rind and…nom nom, happy belly. Today, I tried to cut it up like an avocado and ended up wearing most of it. When I was growing up, I hated to get the middle section with the big pit/seed thing because it didn’t have much to it. The little stringy mango bits would get stuck in your teeth and you’d just end up with sticky fingers. Today, the entire thing was like that. I didn’t care though. All it took was one bite. The taste made me feel so nostalgic! I started going at it like a rabid beast or like one of those vampire feeding frenzies. Suck. Bite. Suck. Sticky fingers. Slip. Drop. Wait, Twilight wasn’t exactly like that, was it?
Good news: My hair now has natural mango extract in it.
Bad news: It’s also sticky.
